i had a discussion with matt this weekend about cars. he’s considering buying an old honda accord to replace his isuzu trooper, b/c of gas. fortunately, i don’t have to pay too much for petrol, considering that i live within walking distance to my office. eventually, it would be nice to have a urban personal vehicle that was affordable. though we all love the toyota prius, you’ll have to agree that it’s really too much to spend just to save gas. here’s an alternate solutions from decades ago, featured on Top Gear (one of my fav shows)…

MIT is actually already working on a solution… i had the pleasure of checking out their original wooden prototype designs when i visited my friends in boston a couple years ago.
