i haven’t painted in about 8 years now… it’s been a while. i guess i’ve been busy doing other stuff. also i’m not entirely convinced i enjoy painting that much; in fact, it really stresses me out. it takes forever to finish a piece as well. regardless, i think it’s something i should start back up again. there are so many things i want to do, and i fear that i may wake up one day doing much less than i expected.
the series i’m thinking about painting will be a hair theme. it will focus on color contrast, composition, and most importantly… fine brush strokes. here are some reference photos to give you an idea of the visual direction.

by the way, i’m not really into blonds. i just think that the color contrast is what i’m looking for. i’m going to do a dark series as well with black hair if this comes out well.
i will be picking up where i left off in college. i started a series with matt. you can check out his website here. i’m a big fan of his work. i’m hoping to get a series of his paintings in my condo. anyway, here’s a painting we worked on. i’d like to take this series further.
