I ran Geek Bench on a couple of the stock computers at the Apple store last night. The image on the left is a dual core iMac… which is pretty fast. I was debating between a MacBook Air and an iMac as a home computer, but after seeing the results, I’d have to favor the iMac.
The Air just doesn’t have enough hardware to run stuff like Photoshop, Logic, Final Cut, etc. If I used the Air, it’d be purely for web browsing, email, writing, and some omnigraffle.
