These Lifta desk organizers seem a little overpriced. THey sure look nice though. Some days I wish I had enough room for a nice wood shop. I’d just need two evenings to mill out something even more custom. For now, maybe I’ll just have to modify a cutting board. Heh.

Weekend Cooking
This weekend Annie asked me to make some more steak. I think I’ve got it down pretty well now.

We also had an omelette competition. I think annie won in terms of presentation, but my flavor was *clearly* better. Heh. I think I slightly overcooked mine. The presentation will improve in time. ^_^

Unrelated, I got bought a fruit tart for Annie’s family this weekend. I can’t believe how damn good these things are, for only $10.

Rue’s Farewell – The Hunger Games (Soundtrack)
I didn’t think I’d like the movie… but turned out better than expected. The music was great. I prefer Battle Royale better, but The Hunger Games turned out to be decent.
Wednesday Music
Found this through Top Gear, season 19 episode 1.

Family Guy Impression
Not really into rap, but this was pretty damn funny. I’ve seen this guy’s other family guy impressions, and he’s talented.
Simple Chicken Thighs
Okay, so I’ve been working on a really simple dish recently. Boneless chicken thighs that you can cook in 10 min. All you do is heat up the cast iron pan to medium to medium-high, add a little oil, and then throw in the chicken. I just season the chicken once on each side as I cook with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper. To create a nice crispy crust, I flip the chicken every minute. The result: Simple chicken thighs in 10 minutes. There is an elegance to simple ingredients… and surprisingly, it tastes much better than some of the fancier stuff I’ve tried cooking.

There’s a lot of truth in the old saying, “less is more”.
