We’ve updated AddThis Labs. It’s a quick design refresh to rework how we present basic instructions and code. I’m really loving how it’s all starting to come together. Huge kudos to the team for pulling all this together.
AddThis Flow Diagram
I’ve been working on the site’s flow for the last sprint or two. We’ve got a lot of new stuff coming, and it seems that our site has too many pages without a proper home. Anyway, I just wanted to share IA stuff with you. I’m hoping to to clean up the flow of our site in the next rev. Stay tuned.

Apologies, I had to remove the flow diagram image. I masked out the “sensitive” information in image, but it was on the borderline of exposing too much. I figured it’d be a nice teaser and maybe spark some conversation. 🙂

New AddThis Features
Here’s an animation I worked on to help show off some our new features announced today at AddThis. Kudos to the team for putting all this great work together. It’s been fun trying to learn how to use After Effects again. Thanks to @korihill for lending her voice, and also thanks to Greg for the script.
Building an AddThis Data Center
The team is building a data center that’s able to take on about 1.5 Petabytes of storage. To save money, we’re building our own servers. Here’s a photo of Stephen putting together hundreds of SSD drives. Huge high five to Stephen, Mike and all the guys pulling this massive project together. I’m hoping I can carve out some time to help them out this week. It’s bananas—we’re reaching some jaw dropping numbers.
AddThis + After Effects
I’m working on an animation to help show off some of our new features for AddThis. Here’s what my desktop looks like (I have two monitors set up vertically). It’s taking some time to get used to After Effects again.
