Roslyn, A Retreat Center of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia since 1934, is located on 150 scenic acres in Henrico County, Virginia, two miles west of the City of Richmond on the James River. The area also serves as a bird sanctuary for dozens of beautiful species. The signage was created from a 400 year old tree that used to be a home for the birds. The sign was designed to consider the environment as well as respect the architecture style.
UMFS is an organization that is designed to bring a troubled teen back from the brink, to fill a void for a caring family and a child without a home and to provide true comfort for those facing the complications of advancing age. From intensive treatment to adoption, we provide a network of services across the Commonwealth of Virginia. The signage designed is to help volunteers, staff and children find buildings on the campus.
Worth Higgins is a high quality commercial printer that continues to expand its facilities and innovate. With a design savvy audience they need unique ways to announce their newest equipment and capabilities that will stand out from the traditional "We just add a new press". This exhibit showcases the history of all their printers, dating back hundreds of years. The exhibit celebrates the name in the headline, "Worth Remembering."
Children's Hospital of Richmond is a provider of specialty pediatric services to the members of our community and beyond, featuring specialized dental, feeding, therapy, and long term care services. The goal of the redesigned interior was to bring a cost efficient way of bringing in friendlier colors, imagery and a sense of tranquilness for the patients, parents and staff.
This event celebrated the joint effort of photographer John Henley, Worth Higgins and Circle S Studio at the James Center, located in downtown Richmond. The budget was virtually zero, so I rented aisles and put the photos on top of the water to allude to idea of the James River. The flood lights were rented to create a "gallery" effect. The event hosted over 400 executives from around Richmond and hundreds of prints were purchased.
This tradeshow booth was designed to stand out amongst all the other financial networks at different events. The booth featured the main campaign, "a partner with unlimited potential." The booth offered multiple areas for salesmen to pitch, and offered a beautiful backdrop that breaks out of the typical cold corporate stock photos.
The cougar shop was historically a small store in the corner of a tiny building. The revised store features a more organized space, including better point of purchase displays, as well as flow. The redesign included everything from product organization, interior design, lighting, large murals, to apparel design. Tying everything back to the school mascot brought school spirit back into shopping for students, parents, faculty and alumni.
Over the past two decades, Hourigan Construction has earned a reputation for building extraordinary stuctures and delivering on their promise of exceptional client service. They have constructed more than 50 office and headquarters buildings, including retail centers, hospitals, call centers, industrial fascilities, schools and healthcare. The signage ties their office building and environment back to their new identity, and connects spaces together.
As an annual company meeting and retreat, I organized and designed the entire presentation and interior. Working directly with their CEO, I helped him create, rehearse and go through the live presentation. By bringing in accent, spot lighting, and a custom signage for the podium, the environment was transformed into a special evening to celebrate a very special team's achievement.
I designed interior and exterior signage for The Market, located in the Shockhoe Bottom, Richmond, VA. The design featured sleeked flexible aisle signs, checkouts, and large duotone images to help compartmentalize the store, visually.
