California Pt.2: Day 2 (Expa Tour)

The next day Annie and I did a little tech tour. Thanks to our friends at Expa for the sweet tour.

Obviously, they like mid century furniture. You’ll see a bunch of Eames chairs everywhere.

DSC 0224

It’s a pretty sweet office. The view is also pretty stellar.

Another view of the office layout.

And yeh, they have a bar, with a real beer tap.

DSC 0230

I love how many casual meeting/work spaces they have. Open and clean.

DSC 0231

I also like all the plants. Very nice touch.

California Pt.2: Day 1

So I’m back from vacation. I spent a week over in Cali, traveling from San Francisco down to San Diego with Annie. I wanted to share some photos, so here we go!

Annie and I got up early to watch the sunrise at Bernal Heights.

At first we were bummed that there was so much fog, but it turned out to be a perfect photo opportunity.

DSC 0036

We met up with Patrick and his roommates to eat some local ramen.

Here’s what I ordered.

Here’s what Annie ordered.

Later we went to Lands End.

DSC 0098

The combination of the rocky shoreline and waves made a picture perfect scene.

DSC 0101

It’s pretty incredible that this is located inside San Francisco.

DSC 0125

Totally random, but there were a bunch people trying to balance rocks.

DSC 0127

If you look in the background, you’ll see the Golden Gate Bridge.

DSC 0132

And we had to climb the hill to watch the sunset. I had to set the camera up at the very edge.

DSC 0167

It doesn’t look high, but the next step is definitely a doosy.

DSC 0178

Later that night, Shaolin Bao!

DSC 0189

And to wrap up the evening, Annie and I went to Twin Peaks to take some long exposures of the city.

DSC 0202

Again, notice all the fog. Visibility was scarce.

Clear Night

I figured I’d go by the park to shoot some photos tonight.

EDSC 0163

The funny thing is that a cop stopped by and realized what I was doing.

EDSC 0154

He came by and looked at the photos and let me keep shooting. That was kinda cool.

Shenandoah + Fog

Annie and I went to Shenandoah National Park this past weekend. Unfortunately, there were very small windows between thick fog.

Since I got a new lens, Annie wanted to take some self portraits. I had to lug around a heavy ass tripod, but the photos actually turned out pretty good (except for the overcast and fog).

I figured since there was so much fog, I might was well make the best of it and shoot some pics of the ride too. Wish my buddy Mark was here to see it.

And of course, the classic foggy tree. No haze filter—this is how it actually looked.

And finally, an opening. This window lasted for about 15 minutes. As you can see, the trees haven’t peaked yet.

And the tunnel. You could actually see the fog rolling over the side.

When there were windows of visibility, it was a fun drive.

But you always had to be on the look out for wild life. Yeh, those are wild turkeys.

And Annie, with all her self portraits.

More Pics of the Night Sky

EDSC 0003

These two photos are from the doorstep of my condo. There’s way too much ambient light, but it’s fun to play around.

EDSC 0001

Unfortunately, I think my primary battery is dying too. I’m going to have to order some more gear.
