I forgot to post these pics up. Our team went go karting 2 weeks ago at All Sports, located in Sterling VA. Man, I love racing around the track.
The best part was that I got my car back from the shop the same day, so driving around after go karting was just pure bliss.
I’m thinking about going back there again soon. Anyone else want to race? (perhaps even this weekend)
It’s pretty crazy to see how much culture we’ve created at AddThis over the last couple of years. Our team loves to work, but sometimes it’s nice to take some breaks and play. I’m really proud to be part of this team. Check out some of our careers.

The entire AddThis team in VA went go karting on friday, last week. It was interesting to see the competitive side of our team. There were good drivers, bad drivers, and some psycho drivers.
Good news is that I felt like I’ve improved dramatically as a driver. My fastest lap time was 24.9s… it’s reasonable. Sadly, it wasn’t enough—our team came in 6th place (out of 10). *sigh*
Damn… first place got some sweet trophies. Congrats to them! *grumble*
It’s always fun sitting down with the team and figuring out seating arrangement. The illustration below shows how people interact with each other. Each color represents a different team. Dotted lines represent a semi connection between people.
The challenge of seating arrangement is getting the people to work around each other, as well as encourage collaboration with new people. The other secret challenge is making everyone happy… unfortunately, there are better seating positions than others. Already, I’m noticing my new seat is in a main traffic area. We may need to make some adjustments, but it shouldn’t be a big deal.
After a big release at AddThis, Sol went out and got a unicorn piñata to celebrate the success. Really cool idea. I think this is the beginning of a new tradition.
