Photos of Jack and Jada

I figured I’d share some photos of Jack and Jada. I was playing around with my camera, and it turns out that my old 17-55mm f2.8 DX lens performs pretty darn well on my D600. There’s a little distortion, but I actually kind of like it. I was going to sell off the lens, but I might actually keep it now. Unfortunately, it only really works from 35-55mm. Once you drop down to 28mm, the vignetting gets a little extreme.

Thanksgiving Weekend with My Fam

We drove down friday night to hang out with my family. Here’s a medley of photos from the weekend. Some of them turned out pretty nice!

This was a photo of Cody, Ned’s new dog. Cody is a malamute.

He’s a super friendly dog.

Not sure what kind of plant this is, but it looks cool.

DSC 2083

This was probably my favorite photo of the evening. I can’t believe that this was shot with my 17-55mm f2.8 dx lens. I was going to sell it off, but I think I’m going to keep it. I’m actually starting to like the distortion.

Thanksgiving with Annie’s Fam

This year, I went to celebrate Thanksgiving with Annie’s family. We were playing beer pong, but replace the beer with shots. And the shots could be substituted with anything the winner wanted.

In the photo below, Jimmy and Kent lost.

Annie prepared the shots of durian (a really pungent fruit).

They knew it was going to be bad.

DSC 1921

How bad?

DSC 1924

Really bad.

DSC 1927

So bad that Jimmy had to chase it with a shot.

First Test Shot Using D600

I just picked up a used D600. Moving into the full frame territory. I’m going to have to sell off the old gear and move into the more modern stuff. Anyway, here’s my first test shot. It’s just an abstracted pic of an ikea chair.

California Pt.2: Day 2 (Market & Japan Town)

After Expa, Rudy took us for a tour around San Francisco.

DSC 0234

We walked around the market and ended up near the piers.

DSC 0243

Last time, Annie and I drove past here, but we didn’t have a chance to explore it.

DSC 0236

It pretty much had everything you could imagine (at extraordinary prices). There’s no shortage of ways to spend money around here.

DSC 0237

You can even grow you own shrooms.

DSC 0238

Nice selection of cured pork.

DSC 0239

And of course cheeses. Thanks Rudy for the hookup!

DSC 0241

After walking for a while, we decided to get a late lunch. Here’s my clam chowder… this bowl was legit.

DSC 0246

Later, we stopped by Japan town to do some touristy things.

DSC 0248

And touristy photos.

DSC 0253

Pretty much every shop was packed to the ceilings with nick nacks.
